Blind Tunes (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the blindtunes.com website and the Blind Tunes iOS application (collectively, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Service.
- Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
Username – Your chosen display name
Email address – Used for account verification and recovery
Password – Stored securely using encryption (we cannot see your password)
Sign in with Apple – If you choose to sign in with Apple, we receive a unique Apple identifier, and optionally your name and email address as provided by Apple. We do not receive your Apple ID password.
Game Data
When you use Blind Tunes, we collect:
Playlists you create – Song selections and playlist names
Rankings – How you rank songs in games
Game statistics – Number of games played, playlists created
Automatically Collected Information
IP address – Used for security and rate limiting
Browser type and device information – For compatibility purposes
Session data – To keep you logged in
On the iOS app, we store an authentication token securely in your device’s Keychain to keep you logged in between sessions. This token stays on your device and is not shared with third parties.

- Third-Party Services
Blind Tunes integrates with third-party services that may collect information:
Apple Music
We use the Apple MusicKit framework to search for songs, display album artwork, and play music. When you use Apple Music features, Apple’s Privacy Policy applies. We do not access your personal Apple Music library or listening history.
YouTube
Video content is embedded from YouTube. When you play videos, YouTube may collect data according to Google’s Privacy Policy.
Stripe
We use Stripe to process premium purchases. When you make a purchase, Stripe collects payment information (such as your card number) directly. We do not store your payment details. Stripe’s Privacy Policy governs their handling of your payment data.
Apple (Sign in with Apple)
If you use Sign in with Apple, Apple facilitates the authentication process. Apple’s Privacy Policy governs how Apple handles your information during sign-in. We only receive the information described in Section 1 above.
Google Analytics (Website Only)
Our website uses Google Analytics to understand visitor behavior. This service may collect data as described in Section 4. Google Analytics is used on the website only and is not included in the iOS app.

Google Analytics – We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website, such as which pages are visited and how long users spend on the site. Google Analytics collects anonymized usage data including IP address, browser type, and referring pages. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing Google’s opt-out browser add-on. Google’s Privacy Policy governs their handling of this data.
When you play music or videos, third-party services may set their own cookies:
YouTube – Video embeds (Google Privacy Policy)
Apple Music – Music playback (Apple Privacy Policy)
The iOS app does not use cookies, analytics SDKs, or advertising SDKs. Authentication is handled via secure token storage in the device Keychain. When you export a playlist, we use MusicKit to create a playlist in your Apple Music library on your behalf. We do not read or access your existing library content.
- Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. The website uses Google Analytics as described in Section 4. The iOS app does not include any third-party advertising or analytics SDKs and does not track you across other apps or websites.
We may share data only in these circumstances:
Public playlists – If you make a playlist public, other users can see it
Share codes – When you share a game code, recipients can see the playlist
Payment processing – Stripe receives necessary information to process purchases
Legal requirements – If required by law or to protect our rights
Service providers – With trusted partners who help operate our service (hosting, email)

We implement security measures to protect your information, including:
Encrypted password storage
Secure HTTPS connections
Rate limiting to prevent abuse
Email verification for accounts
Secure Keychain storage for authentication tokens on iOS

Delete your account – Remove your account and associated data from your Profile page

- Data Retention
We retain your data as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your personal information and game data. Some anonymized data may be retained for analytics purposes.
- Children’s Privacy
Blind Tunes is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@blindtunes.com and we will delete it.
- Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on our website or sending an email. Your continued use of Blind Tunes after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
